Lending a hand (sanitiser) to sports clubs and supporting WA business.
25 May 2020
It has been heartening to see our community galvanise during this unprecedented crisis. Premier McGowan’s road-map out of the current restrictions has provided a pathway for our community for life to return to normal in the near future.
We don’t know how our world will look post-COVID-19, but we have adapted to new norms that may be with us for a while yet. One example is local businesses adapting and re-purposing their operations to assist in suppressing the corona-virus.
One such business is SPINIFEX Brewing Co, who have partnered with fellow WA company Limestone Coast Brewing to drastically reconfigure their business to create SPINIFEX Protect and produce hand sanitiser for our local market. This part Aboriginal owned WA business has responded to increasing disruptions and shortages in existing supply chains and began producing high-alcohol content hand sanitiser for supply to WA.
Chris Tallentire has proudly purchased SPINIFEX Protect hand sanitiser to donate to local sporting groups and residents to assist with their hygiene requirements as they come out of hibernation and resume activities as restrictions lift.
Chris Tallentire MLA, Member for Thornlie;
"I urge our community to get behind the great work of local businesses like Spinifex Protect and support them as best we can as we navigate our way out of these restrictions.
I’m proud to donate this hand sanitiser to help our local clubs kick-start operations."
Adam Barnard is Spokesman and Director of Sales at Spinifex Protect;
"On behalf of the team at SPINIFEX PROTECT it’s a great pleasure to be fulfilling this special order for Chris and we applaud his support of local manufacturing in Western Australia.
SPINIFEX PROTECT is proudly a part Aboriginal owned business and we are delighted to be creating jobs and opportunities at a time we need it most.
I implore all West Australians to shop local and buy local because you are directly contributing to the economic recovery of our great state. www.spinifexprotect.com.au."
